Solimar was founded in 1979.
The company started as a manufacturer of mechanical steering systems for racing and cruising sailing yachts.
As the years went by, we extended our production to many other marine products.
Today Solimar, besides being well known for reliable and high quality mechanical steering systems, also manufactures rudder shafts, traditional and self-aligning bearings, propeller shafts, deck fittings, equipment for traditional and classic boats, fittings for offshore powerboats, hardware for sailing and motor
yachts, deck hatches in "E" glass and carbon composite.
In the construction of all our products, just as for the steering systems, our strength
relies in our
design and production versatility and flexibility. In fact, besides the standard
production, we design and build a wide range of custom items to satisfy the increasing requirements of personalized
fittings, such as consoles, quadrants, sheaves supports and carbon composite
steering wheels..
